Once more questioning whether reporters are compromising the manhunt in their search for crucial details, Chief Moose declined to speculate on the sniper's wiliness or the police strategies.
"If the person or people involved in this were paying attention, they would have that strategy and therefore would make that part of their strategy," the chief replied.
I watched a show in Hong Kong about serial killers and how the ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms) caught them. Why there is a department responsible for all three of those areas is never explained (from the official site: Its unique responsibilities include protecting the public, reducing violent crime, and collecting revenue); perhaps when America was forming, its freemason, Puritan forefathers formed a Vice Squad, which morphed into todays ATF. The focus of the show was a couple who went on a three-state tour killing spree, working their way into homes and murdering people at random. The chief investigator stated, and I quote, “They were always one step ahead of us.” In other words, we were charting them by their victims. For reasons only the couple know, they made their way back to their hometown. They went to a ballpark and sat in the stands, where they were recognized by some passers-by. When the police arrived the couple did not resist arrest, and were eventually given four consecutive life sentences, or something like that. The best part of the show was the end, where the narrator went on at length about how the dedication of the ATF crew had led to another successful capture.
I’m sure the ATF do all they can to aid in the capture of criminals. I am also sure that even the narrator knew there was no chance in hell the couple would have been captured if they hadn’t simply given up. Let's just hope the white van sniper is insane enough that he gives himself away.
Unless prayer stops him first.
